BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEPH T. CALLAHAN III
Joseph T. Callahan III was, in the real world, a consummate professional, learned scholar, trainer, mentor, commander, husband, father, and defender of liberty and freedom, as a member of the United States Air Force. He started his career as a helicopter pilot, and through hard work and dedication, launched a military career that would see him through numerous commands, to become a Brigadier General working at the Pentagon and the U.S. Air Force Headquarters, in Washington D.C.
He served with distinction, earning numerous awards and medals, including the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with silver oak leaf cluster, Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal, along with many others.
Jolly01, or simply “Jolly”, encompassed all of those same traits. He was a mentor, a teacher, and an inspiration to almost everyone he spent time with. He was funny, smart, helpful, and never shied away from putting his hat in the ring when it was time to get work done. As a member, and eventual senior leader of Atlas Defense Industries, serving on the board, he helped to not only shape the organization into what it is today, but helped shape many of its other members and leaders into better players, better leaders, and better people.
Beyond any of this, he was our friend, from the day he joined the organization, through the moment he passed, and shall remain so until the last of us has passed into the great beyond.
Even then, his contributions to the world will be seen, heard, and felt for generations to come.
Jolly, we wish you peace. May you rest forever in the light, and love, of the Lord.
